Return Period
If you are unhappy with your full-sized product purchase for any reason, you can return lightly used products for a refund within 30 days from the date the order was shipped.
TIP: Swatching and light usage do not affect the returnability of a product, so we always recommend applying a product as you would actually wear it before deciding to return it. Some colors may look very different on your skin than in the packaging.
If 30 days have gone by since your order was shipped, unfortunately, we cannot offer you a return or refund.
Only regularly priced items can be returned; unless otherwise stated, clearance items are final sale. Regularly priced items purchased using a discount code are eligible for return unless otherwise specified.
Unless otherwise noted, Lab Access Releases are covered by our standard return policy and may be returned.
Return Shipping
Unlike many consumer products, cosmetics cannot be resold once they leave the facility.
You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item.
Original shipping costs and shipping insurance (such as Route Shipping Protection) are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the current flat-rate cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund, including orders that have qualified for free shipping.
If you received promotional free shipping on your order, and your return takes your order total below the free shipping promotion threshold, the current flat-rate cost of shipping will also be deducted from your refund.
Please include a packing slip or note containing your name and order number in the parcel. We ask you to ship back your items in their original packaging, along with any inserts. If you no longer have the original packaging, contact us for assistance.
If you are shipping a return item, we recommend using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot guarantee the receipt of your returned item and cannot issue refunds for items we do not receive.
Return Exceptions
Some items are final sale and never eligible for return: samples, sample sets, gift cards, or any products that explicitly mention final sale status on their product pages. In the extremely rare case where this applies, it will always be noted explicitly.
We reserve the right to revoke return privileges in cases of excessive returns or abuse of our policy.
We are unable to accept returns on any items not purchased online at ritueldefille.com. If you purchased a product at one of our authorized retailers, please contact them directly.
At this time, we are unable to process exchanges. When your refund is issued, you will be able to place a new order for your preferred color.
TIP: If you have any uncertainty about which items to select, we recommend taking advantage of our free, quick Color Consultation service before placing your order. We want you to find colors you absolutely love and will do everything possible to guide you toward your ideal shades.
Returns + Promotions
If a partial return brings your final order total below a minimum threshold for a promotion, your order will no longer qualify for that promotion and your refund total will be adjusted accordingly.
If you received promotional free shipping on your order, and your return takes your order total below the free shipping promotion threshold, the current flat-rate cost of shipping will be deducted from your refund.
If you receive a gift with purchase, and your return brings your order total below the qualification threshold for that gift, you may choose to either return the gift or have the retail price of the item deducted from your refund.
EXAMPLE: Rituel de Fille offers a free lipstick valued at $25 with orders of $150+. You place a $160 order but decide to return a $42 blush. After returning the blush, your adjusted order total is $118, below the $150 threshold, so your order no longer qualifies for the free gift.
If you return the blush, and choose to return the lipstick as well, you will receive a refund of $42—the total purchase price of the returned blush.
If you want to keep the $25 lipstick, you’ll be responsible for the retail price of that item, which will be deducted from your refund. In this case, you would receive a refund of $17, the difference between the returned blush and the lipstick.
If the returned item is priced lower than the gift’s value and you wish to keep it, please contact us, and we will try to work with you on a solution.
Purchases with Rituelist Rewards Vouchers
Rituelist Rewards voucher coupons do not have any cash value.
Once a Rituelist Rewards voucher coupon is redeemed, it cannot be canceled and the points cannot be refunded as Color Points, store credit, or cash. For returns on orders placed using a voucher coupon, only the original cash charge value is subject to our returns and refunds policy. All rewards redemptions are final.
TIP: We’re happy to offer a color consultation for Rituelist Rewards items, so do not hesitate to reach out before redeeming your Color Points if you’re unsure about what to choose.
When you place an order using a Rituelist Rewards voucher, the discount value is spread across each item. The only refundable amount in the case of a return is the USD paid for an individual item.
EXAMPLE: You order two $25 products, and use a $20 Rituelist Rewards voucher at checkout. The voucher applies a $10 discount to each product, meaning you’ll pay $15 for each. If you return one of the products, the most that can be refunded is $15. We cannot reallocate the voucher value differently after it’s been used or apply it to other products.
Exchanges
At this time, we are unable to process exchanges. When your refund is issued, you may place a new order for your preferred color. The quickest way to receive a refund to place a new order is to receive your refund in the form of store credit. Please read the Refunds for Returns section below for more details about this refund option.
Gift Cards
All gift card sales are final. Gift cards never expire. Gift cards cannot be converted to cash, refunded, or returned once issued.
Refunds for Returns
You may select from two refund options: refund to the original payment method or refund for store credit.
Once your return is received, inspected, and processed (typically within 3-7 business days), we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your return.
If your return is approved, your refund will be processed according to the method you selected in your return request.
- Refund to original payment method: Once your refund is processed, a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, generally within 14 business days. We are not able to expedite funds entering your account after we issue a refund. Any questions regarding refund status on your account statement should be directed to your financial institution.
- Refund for store credit: Once your refund is processed, a digital gift card will be sent to the email address on file for your account. This should arrive the same day your refund is processed. If you do not receive this gift card, please contact us. Gift cards never expire. Gift cards cannot be converted to cash, refunded, or returned once issued. To use this gift card, simply enter your unique code at checkout.
Late or Missing Refunds
From the date they are processed, refunds typically take 2-14 business days to reflect in your account. If you haven’t received a refund yet:
- First, check your bank account again.
- Then contact your credit card company, as it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
- Contact your bank, as there’s often some processing time before the refund is posted.
- If you’ve done all of this and still haven’t received your refund, please contact us.
Returning a Gift
If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return, per the same terms as standard returns.
- Once the returned item is received, a gift credit will be issued to you. You must provide the original order number and customer information for this to be possible. If you’re unable to provide this information, we cannot process a return.
- If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver and they will find out about your return.
